My kids are crazy

I am sitting here trying to blog, since I haven't for what seems like forever, listening to my two year old telling me "I seen the Hop, he's a rabbit. Him poops jelly beans for funny and goes really high! They bringa bring the guitar and go to the water! This is the dictionary. I read the dictionary, it has abc's and cars." He's right you know, he has seen the Hop, the movie Hop, about an Easter bunny that plays drums, jumps really high, and poops jelly beans. They, who bringa bring the guitar, are Alvin and the Chipmunks and they do go to the water in the most recent movie Chipwrecked. Also, my little Bubba loves reading the dictionary, and it has a page in it about cars. I love that he has hit an age where he remembers things more clearly, but I love the stories he comes up with even more. Recently we were going to dinner and he told us we were going to have monkey burgers and that hamburgers with cheese is a celebration. He's a real crack up and I can't wait to see where he goes with this.

Sweetie Pie has developed quite the little personality as well. The two of them really keep me on my toes, but I love every minute of it. I've started flash cards with her, just like we did with Bubba at this age, and she finds them just as funny. She gets all excited and talks a lot when we are working on the animals, though it could be because mommy makes funny noises while doing the animals. She's also old enough to start playing with some of her toys, when brother isn't looking, and loves a singing tea pot she got for Christmas. It's really cute and teaches numbers, shapes, and manners. She still isn't taking a bottle and is getting used to solids so it's a lot of mommy and Sweetie Pie because I need to be there to nurse her. It's not a problem, but it makes alone time impossible, and date time with Daddy difficult. We'll get there eventually, but prayers that she eases up and takes a bottle, or at least gets used to solids, would be nice.

Best of all is that my two little ones get along really well. They seem to genuinly like each others company, at least for now, and that fills my heart with joy. Sweetie Pie gets so excited when she hears or sees her brother, and Bubba loves teaching her about motorcycles and dinosaurs and drums.

I'm still trying to work on educating my little guys at home. Bubba is doing really well. He knows his entire alphabet capital and lower case, the phonics sounds of the alphabet, can count to 20, and counts down from 10, talks in full sentences, knows his colors and shapes, body parts... he's really getting hard to keep up with. We are now working on pre-writing and reading skills as well as counting individual items. Counting is a tough one because he wants to just keep counting higher and higher, but I'm sure if we keep working on it he will learn to slow down and count each item individually.

To help build that skill I'm working on a home made board game for him, kind of like High Ho Cherry Oh!, but with a Pirate theme. I am making 40 doubloons in 4 different colors, and will make 4 treasure chests too. I am hoping he likes it. Once it is done I can post a tutorial of sorts. For now I have some progress pictures of the doubloons:
They are made out of Crayola Model Magic clay so they will dry over night. Once that is done I will paint and seal them then they will be ready for play. I have 30, so 10 more and I'm done. Well, done with that part at least. As much as I'd love to stay on a blog more I must go. The natives are getting restless and I should go figure out lunch. Then it's late nap, a shower (fingers crossed) for mommy and a concert tonight with my hubby and our niece. Looking forward to that, it's not often we get out with out the kids, so I enjoy every moment we get.

Until next time! God's blessings!
